Melissa DeWolf received her B.S. in Psychology from Carnegie Mellon University. Melissa is broadly interested in how children and adults integrate new information into their already existing knowledge. This includes understanding people’s knowledge representation, conceptual understanding and relational reasoning. One way she has investigated this has been in the domain of mathematics learning and especially in number magnitude representation and in more complex areas of mathematics that require deep relational thinking. She hopes that this research can be applied to education to improve math and science reasoning.
